Ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp has been hot with a massive blow. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood is set to miss the initial matches of the IPL 2023, Cricket Australia confirmed on March 30 (Thursday).

Hazlewood is currently recovering from an Achilles injury which had earlier sidelined him from the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. 32-year-old sustained the after bowling on damp run-ups at the Sydney Cricket Ground during a Test match in January this year.

 

The Australian fast-bowler who was roped in by the Bangalore-based franchise at the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, is currently at home and will undergo medical consultation prior to his return to India for the 16 th  edition of the tournament.

 

Glenn Maxwell doubtful for RCB vs MI

 

Glenn Maxwell, who broke his leg in a freak accident last November, has been out of action since then. In another blow, Maxwell remains doubtful for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s tournament opener against Mumbai Indians. The two teams will lock horns to conclude  the second double-header of the tournament on April 2 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
