Josh Philippe will miss the entire season of IPL 2021. The news has been confirmed by his IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have  roped in  New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Finn Allen as his replacement for the upcoming season. Australian cricketer, Philippe who made his debut in 2020, played five games and scored 78 runs for the franchise. Talking about his replacement, Finn has featured in 12 First-class games for New Zealand and scored three half centuries. The Kiwi player had a base price of INR 20 lakh, an amount Josh Philippe had also set for himself. Notably, it will be Finn’s debut in IPL this year when he plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The 21-year-old youngster first made his T20 debut in 2017 for Auckland in Super Smash League. Following excellent performance in debut season, he was then called up for New Zealand for 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup. Allen had an excellent World Cup with the Blackcaps as he guided his side to a comfortable win over West Indies with a 115-run knock. The youngster then set another record in his second game as he smashed a half-century from just 19 balls against Kenya. Allen remained the highest scorer for Kiwis throughout the tournament.

The good form then saw him win a place in Auckland Aces squad in Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy 2018. His current T20 record comprises of 537 runs in 13 games at an applaudable average of 48.81. Record includes 6 half-centuries with a high score of unbeaten 92.
