On Tuesday, May 6, the Indian women’s cricket team were handed a massive setback as all-rounder Kashvee Gautam has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI tri-nation series involving Sri Lanka and South Africa. The Indian all-rounder, who made her debut against Sri Lanka Women in the series in the island nation, will miss the remaining matches owning to an injury.
As reported by India Today, Kashvee Gautam’s debut series has come to a standstill after featuring in only three matches for the Women in Blue in Sri Lanka. However, the right-arm seamer returned with the figures of 0/28 in her debut match, the visitors came out victorious beating Sri Lanka Women by nine wickets. So far, Kashvee has remained wicketless in the three matches and has got only 22 runs from her bat.

However, the 22-year-old will hope to come out better after recovering from the reported leg injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Kranti Goud as her replacement for the remainder of the series. It is to be noted that Kranti is yet to make her international debut but recently featured in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) with UP Warriorz. In the T20 league, she played eight matches, finishing with six wickets to her name.
Speaking of the series, India Women currently sit at the top, having won two games from their three matches. They will be next taking on South Africa Women on Wednesday, May 7 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
