KL Rahul will likely miss a couple of games during the upcoming IPL season due to the possible birth of his first child in the summer of 2025. The recent Champions Trophy winner was signed by the Delhi Capitals in the 2025 IPL mega auction for a whopping INR 14 Crore. Since the Capitals have not retained their star player Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul will be looking to establish himself as a mainstay batter alongside names like Faf du Plessis, Tristan Stubbs, etc. The Delhi Capital’s campaign begins on 24th March with their opening match against Rahul’s former suitors; Lucknow Super Giants.

As KL Rahul also had a leadership role at LSG, he will look to continue that legacy in the DC colours, with the official captain for the franchise yet to be announced. Rishabh Pant who was acquired by LSG after not retaining their former captain KL Rahul, was announced to take over as captain for the upcoming season.
