The Indian cricket team will lock horns with England in a highly-anticipated five-match Test Series, starting from June 20. Ahead of the highly-anticipated series, the India A side will lock horns in two unofficial Tests. While the first unofficial four-day Test has commenced in Cantebury, in a big update, it is being reported that KL Rahul will join the side ahead of the second unofficial Test.
If reports are to be believed, KL Rahul has decided to play the second warm-up game for India A against England Lions in Northampton from June 6 onwards. The decision from the Indian wicketkeeper-batter comes as he looks to get some practice on the English pitches, prior to the high-octane series.

The development was communicated on Friday, May 30. A source close to the developments informed, as quoted by The Indian Express, “He will be flying on Monday and will be playing a second warm up game with the India A side. As he is part of the senior men’s team, which will be playing five Test matches in the series, these matches will give him game time and match practice.”
KL Rahul, who hasn’t been named in the India A squad, but has been named in the Indian 18-member squad for the five-match Test series, plans to get some practice after his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season culminated as Delhi Capitals (DC) bowed out of the season.
The 33-year-old finished the IPL 2025 season with 539 runs under his belt from 13 innings, averaing 53.90. During his 13-match stint, he registered three 50-plus scores, whereas played a century knock. He finished the season in seventh place in the top run-getters’ list.
