The Hon’ble Sports Minister of Rajasthan Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore announced that Rajasthan Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara will mentor the Rajasthan Ranji Trophy side in the coming years. Rathore and  Sangakkara were on a panel alongside RR  Chairperson Ranjit Barthakur and RR Chief Executive Officer Jake Lush McCrum at an event in Jaipur where the  Royals unveiled a special jersey for the #PinkPromise match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

With the #PinkPromise match, the Royals hope to amplify the team’s support toward the empowerment of women in rural India. The initiative works with a vision of 'Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai' and looks to create replicable models of women-led transformation which facilitate access to water, solar energy, upskilling and mental health interventions.

Rajasthan Royals and Govt of Rajasthan to sign MoU

Ahead of the unveiling of the new jersey,  Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore revealed that as part of the new partnerships between Rajasthan Royals and the Government of Rajasthan,  Kumar Sangakkara will mentor the Rajasthan Ranji Trophy side. The Rajasthan side finished fifth in Elite Group A with two wins, two losses and three draws.

At the event,   RR Chairperson Ranjit Barthakur and  Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also announced that  Rajasthan Royals and the Government of Rajasthan will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through this MoU, both parties will create initiatives across each district in Rajasthan for the empowerment of sports.
