Star footballer Kylian Mbappe was forced to leave the field within just 35 minutes of Real Madrid’s clash against Atalanta on Tuesday night. Although Mbappe started brightly in the Champions League fixture, opening the scoring with a strike in the 10th minute after slipping in behind the opposite defence.

However, his stay in the middle was cut short in the 36th minute when he went down holding his thigh before being substituted off shortly afterwards. Seeing this, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti recently expressed hope that Mbappe’s injury is not serious after he played a key role in Madrid’s 3-2 win over Atalanta on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappe to undergo tests after suffering ischial discomfort

Speaking after Real Madrid’s 3-2 win, Ancelotti told Movistar Plus, “Mbappe has suffered an overload, an ischial (lower pelvis) discomfort.” “It doesn’t seem serious, but we’ll see tomorrow after the exams. He couldn’t sprint, it was bothering him a bit and we decided to make the substitution,” he further added.

However, the win proved to be a crucial one for the Madrid as moved to nine points in the group standings, keeping them in the hunt for a top-eight finish and automatic progression to Round of 16. Highlighting on the win, Ancelotti said, “It’s a very important victory, not everyone wins here. We suffered and fought hard, there is no Champions League without suffering. They were pushing, but we started well in the second half. We are very happy. It was a win that is very god for us, not just for the points, but to build confidence.”
