FC Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has been on fire this year, with the 17-year-old dropping some immaculate performances from time to time against top European clubs. His latest heroics were against arch-rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico, when the youngster scored a spectacular curling goal past Thibaut Courtois. Along with Lamine’s on-field flamboyance, his off-field antics, especially his social media presence and wit is something to truly take note of. Very recently in the aftermath of the El Clasico, Yamal taking a dig at two Real Madrid players through his Instagram post has caught the attention of many.

Yamal posted a thread of photos on his official Instagram account after the win against Real Madrid with a Spanish caption reading, "Mm, Ryan vacunó (darle like a esta también)", in which the latter part of the caption translates to "Don’t forget to like this too". The reference here is to Alessandro Bastoni’s Instagram post, which he put up after Inter Milan’s victory over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. The thread contained a photo of Lamine down on the ground, with Bastoni celebrating the tackle. Notably, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham and ex-defender Sergio Ramos had liked that particular post.

Lamine Yamal has unreal numbers of 40G/A in 52 games at just 17 years of age

As a response to that, Lamine put up this post after defeating Real Madrid by captioning it, "Don’t forget to like this too", taking a dig at Bellingham and Ramos. This isn’t the first time that Yamal has stirred up the internet with his witty responses to criticism including a cheeky dig taken at Rafael van der Vaart’s comments as well. However, Yamal’s off-field wittiness is perfectly complemented by his on-field performances with FC Barcelona.

At just 17 years of age, Yamal is already enjoying a stellar season with the Blaugrana under Hansi Flick. With 40G/A in 52 matches so far, Yamal is leading the charts for the greatest number of assists in LaLiga this season. His presence down the right-hand flank has been instrumental for Barcelona’s attacking prowess and Hansi Flick’s success in the current season.
