FC Barcelona came off a hard-fought 4-3 victory against arch-rivals Real Madrid on May 11 at the Montjuic Stadium in Barcelona. The victory marked the fourth El Clasico match that Barca have won in a row this season over the Los Blancos. While the match itself was full of thrill, entertainment and drama, one particular moment that has caught the attention of fans and is doing the rounds on social media, is a video featuring Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian winger, who is known for his provocative actions, was once again caught in the act at the Montjuic Stadium.

In a video that has surfaced, Vinicius Jr can be seen making a hand gesture to the Barcelona fans in the stand, indicating the number 15. This was a reference drawn to the number of UEFA Champions League titles Real Madrid has won, which is the highest won by any club. It was also to mock Barcelona over them winning just five UCL titles so far in the club’s history. This video is understood to be from the moment where Barcelona had made a comeback and were leading the game 4-2, which must have led to an electrifying atmosphere amongst the fans in the stands.

Vinicius Jr. suffers injury in left ankle; will miss remaining matches of 2024-25 season

While the El Clasico clashes have not been favourable for Real Madrid this season, Vinicius Jr’s personal records have been good. The 24-year-old forward has 36G/A in 50 matches so far, however the latest updates about his fitness post the Barcelona match are concerning. Real Madrid has confirmed that Vinicius Jr. picked up an injury during the clash against Barca and will likely be out for the remainder of this current season.

With only three LaLiga matches remaining, and the hopes for a title charge looking extremely bleak for Real Madrid, Vinicius’s injury should not be a major concern for the team as it will only mean that some other fringe player will get more minutes in the remaining matches.
