Leeds United Chairman Paraag Marathe has confirmed that Daniel Farke will be seen leading the side as coach in the 2025-26 Premier League season. The German got the backing of his team’s CEO Marathe, following the side’s sensational title success in the Sky Bet Championship on May 3. After confirmation of the club’s promotion back to England’s top club competition, there were reports that asserted that Farke’s spot in the team is in frail position, despite noting the fact that the 48-year-old was yet to complete two years of his contract. However, Marathe has now broken into the scene after Leeds’ notable success and has also shown faith in Farke.
The prominent American businessman said that he is thrilled to continue working with eminent figures like Farke, Adam Underwood, and Robbie Evans for the upcoming season. “I want to tell you all I’m very excited to run it back with Daniel. I’m really excited about collaborating with Daniel, with Robbie Evans, with Adam Underwood and, together, we are going to build the best squad we can with every penny we’re allowed to spend to compete in the Premier League,” said Marathe. Recently, Evans became Leeds’ Managing Director while Underwood was named Sporting Director of the English team.
Paraag Marathe acknowledges Daniel Farke’s efforts
Paraag has recognised how difficult things were for Farke before guiding the English club to their latest EFL title win. Farke confronted tough questions on his future in the club from the media. However, Marathe claimed that the manager received support from the team management behind the scenes.
“When he told you all he was 100 percent confident we’re going to the Premier League, after the draw against Swansea, he believed it and I love him for it. He has that conviction and belief. We continue to stay in touch all the time. I did tell him privately, I’m looking forward to moving forward together. I didn’t feel like it was my time to speak because someone wanted to put out a rumour or whatever. It wasn’t my place in time to speak at that point, but I did talk to him privately,” said Paraag.
