BCCI has released the players list for the IPL 2024 auction. The auction is set to take place on 19th December in Dubai, where a total of 333 players are there in the auctions in 19 different sets.
Overall, a maximum of 77 slots are only available to be filled in all ten IPL franchises before the start of the 2024 season, hence, many players who registered themselves may not go under the hammer itself, but here in this article, we will have a look on the list of set-2 players from IPL 2024 auctions.
List of players in set-2 of IPL 2024 auctions:
- Gerald Coetzee from South Africa
- Pat Cummins from Australia
- Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka
- Daryl Mitchell from New Zealand
- Azmatullah Omarzai from Afghanistan
- Harshal Patel from India
- Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand
- Shardul Thakur from India
- Chris Woakes from England
Bowlers like Gerald Coetzee, Pat Cummins, Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur and Chris Woakes have set a base price of 2 crores for them.
Gerald Coetzee did a fantabulous job with the ball in the 2023 World Cup by picking just 20 wickets from 8 games, while Pat Cummins, being the skipper of Australia, led his side to glory in the 2023 World Cup.
Harshal Patel had a sensational season with the ball for RCB in IPL 2021 as he also made his T20I debut in the same year and became a regular member of the squad in the 2022 India side.
Shardul Thakur was picked by KKR for 10.75 Crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction but he didn't show his worth in the last two seasons and as a result, he was released by the Kolkata franchise.
Chris Woakes, an England all-rounder like Sam Curran, could have a lot of demand in the IPL 2024 auctions.
New Zealand players like Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra are expected to go for a very high price in IPL 2024 auctions after the way they performed in the 2023 World Cup.
Daryl Mitchell has registered himself in the auction for a base price of 1 crore, while the young sensation Rachin Ravindra has kept himself at a minimum base price of 50 lakhs. Ravindra and Mitchell were instrumental in New Zealand's successful tenure in the 2023 World Cup.
Sri Lankan legend Wanindu Hasaranga has registered himself for a base price of 1.5 crores, while Azmatullah Omarzai has registered himself for a minimum base value of 50 lakhs.
