The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has now moved to the playoffs where four teams will be battling to reach the final of the tournament scheduled to be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. However, these teams will miss some of their key stalwarts as they left the marquee T20 event to serve their national teams in international cricket. With the white-ball series between England and West Indies and the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final to be held between Australia and South Africa at the iconic Lord’s from June 11 to 15, several renowned figures were bound to leave their IPL sides’ camp.

Gujarat Titans’ (GT) will go into the Eliminator game without their star top-order batter Jos Buttler, who notched up 538 runs in 14 matches of the tournament. The veteran is replaced with Sri Lanka’s aggressive top-order batter Kusal Mendis, who has never played in the cash-rich league. However, they haven’t got the replacements of their key South Africa quicks Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee. Punjab Kings (PBKS) are also yet to get the replacement of their mainstay pacer Marco Jansen, who left the campaign to join his national team for the preparation of the WTC final 2025 against the Aussies.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have been left without Ryan Rickelton, all-rounder Will Jacks, and Corbin Bosch. Rickelton and Bosch made it to South Africa’s WTC final 2025 squad against Australia while Jacks has joined the English camp for the home assignment against the Windies side. Rickelton’s replacement is England’s veteran batter Jonny Bairstow, who is highly likely to be seen opening with Rohit Sharma while Jacks’ place will be filled by Charith Asalanka. Richard Gleeson has been assigned the task to replace Bosch.
