Liverpool football club have started the summer transfer window on a high and have made massive changes to their squad. The Merseyside football club have made seven new signings in the transfer window until now and are now looking even more dangerous under the management of Arne Slot. The Reds managed to clinch another victory in their pre-season friendly against Yokohama FM, defeating the Japanese side 3-1.
Their most expensive signing of the transfer window Florian Wirtz registered his first goal for Liverpool along with the youngsters Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni also adding their name to the scoresheet. Liverpool have now announced the new jersey numbers for their 2025-26 squad. The attacking midfielder from Bayer Laverkusen, Florian Wirtz gets the jersey number ‘7’ following the departure of their former winger Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich. In their goalkeeping department, Giorgi Mamardashvili gets the number ‘25’, Freddie Woodman have been handed number ‘28’ and Armin Pecsi number ‘41’.

Their fiery new wing-back Jeremie Frimpong choose the number ‘30’ for the upcoming season with their new left back Milos Kerkes opting for the number ‘6’. The new striker for the upcoming season Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt gets his hands on the jersey number ‘22’. Some of the Reds have also decided to switch their jersey numbers with Conor Bradley switching to the number ‘12’ from ‘84’ alongside the youngster Trey Nyoni, who switches to number ‘42’ from ‘98’ for the upcoming season.
However, according to several reports Liverpool are not done yet in the summer transfer window and are very close to agreeing a deal with Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. The Swedish international has made it clear that he prefers a move to Liverpool and is currently training individually at the training facility of his former club Real Sociedad. Newcastle are demanding more than £100m for the signing of the Swedish international while the future of Isak still remains uncertain.
