Hugo Ekitike is a French international footballer, who plays for the club Eintracht Frankfurt in Bundesliga. Ekitike was signed by the German side on a loan deal from PSG, eventually the club decided to make his signing permanent. In the previous season at Eintracht Frankfurt, Hugo Ekitike scored 22 goals in the 48 matches he played for the club which helped the club, which played a crucial role for the club to finish in the third place on the table and helped them to qualify for the Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
According to the latest reports, the Premier League Champions have made a bid for Hugo Ekitike worth more than £70 million with additional add-ons included, in order to bring the striker into the Premier League. Ekitike has agreed personal terms with Liverpool and is willing to join at Anfield. However, the release clause for the French International determined by Frankfurt is worth £85 million. Liverpool are keen on completing the move and signing him by the end of this week. If this bid is rejected, it still remains uncertain whether they will propose another bid to Eintracht Frankfurt which triggers the release clause for their player.
Newcastle United bid for Ekitike worth £70m rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt: Reports
Liverpool are one of the clubs who have started the transfer window on a high note and signed multiple players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez until now. However, Arne Slot wants to add another clinical finisher to his squad which will boost his chances of defending the title. Liverpool were considering signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. However, they have refrained from signing him as he is considered not-for-sale by the Magpies for the upcoming season.
Hugo Ekiteke is considered another potential target who brings on the exact profile required by the Liverpool manager Arne Slot. It will be interesting to see if Frankfurt accept their bid, as earlier this week the German side rejected a bid of £70 million from Newcastle United. Liverpool’s proposal is a bit more than what the Magpies had offered which is why it will be interesting to see if they are able to cross the line and complete the deal.
