The Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James, who is in his 40s, revealed three secrets to continuing with the game strongly. Starting his NBA career at the age of 18 years, James went on to become all-time leading scorer in the history of the league. In his illustrious career, LeBron James won four-time NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards, and four NBA Finals MVP, and at 40, he remains one of the league's most prolific players and a great draw wherever he plays. During an interview with Mirror.com, James attributed his success towards discipline and sensible approach.
Despite acknowledging that LeBron James doesn't have much time left in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers great has disclosed how he takes care of his body, which has allowed him to dominate his opponents for more than 20 years. James maintains discipline in his sleep, diet, and mental condition. In the Q&A session after the Lakers' recent 94-85 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, James maintained that in the 22 years of his career in the NBA he has maintained "no limits" when it comes to keep going in this age.
"I listen to my body and take care of what I have to care of," says LeBron James
LeBron James, when commenting on how he maintains his strict disciplined lifestyle, mentioned, "So, yeah, I mean, I'm 40 years old. I'm in year 22. I've been in the postseason way over half of my career. You know, so I listen to the body. That's about taking care of what I have to take care of, and control what I have to control. And that's about getting sleep, getting the right food in me, and keeping my mind sharp. The body can do what the body can do, but as long as the mind is in tune, I believe that you can take it even further."
About his team-centric approach in every game, he said, "So, just trying to give my teammates what I got offensively, but more importantly, defensively, going out there, helping to rebound, crashing, being physical. Also, using my mind to be able to call out a lot of things that teams are doing so we can be ahead of a lot of plays as well, so we're not surprised by a lot of things.
The Lakers' Game 2 victory comes after they dropped Game 1 to the Timberwolves during the weekend match, as the NBA playoffs begin. James and his teammates are currently hot favorites in the season to win the Western Conference and advance to the NBA Finals against whatever team wins the East.
