Real Madrid on Sunday said that Lucas Vazquez will miss the UEFA Champions League (UCL) match against Manchester City after suffering hamstring injury in the previous match for the club. With that, he has joined the list of ruled out players like defenders Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Eder Militao. The injury demanded Lucas stay out of action for the next three weeks. The unfortunate injury took place when Real Madrid was playing against Atletico Madrid on Saturday when he entered the contest in the 81st minute as a substitute. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Galacticos in their official statement, which was released on Sunday, said, "Following tests carried out on Lucas Vazquez today by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left hamstring." "He will not be in the squad to travel to Manchester," the Champions League holders added.

Limited star players for Real Madrid in upcoming clash against Manchester City

The Real Madrid team is set to travel to Manchester City on Monday to play their first knockout stage match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. This match is crucial as it will help decide which club will pass through last sixteen of the competition.

At present, the La Liga leaders have Raul Asensio as a recognized centre-back, along with full-backs Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy, before their match at the Etihad Stadium. The huge list of injured players will have a major impact on Real Madrid's defensive lineup. Since the Real Madrid will miss players like Militao and Carvajal, defenders will have a pressure while facing Manchester City.

Despite losing players, Real Madrid is looking forward to fight and to win the Champions League again. However, the club needs to have some strategies ready to compensate for the loss of players and achieve a positive result.
