Luis Suarez, a Colombian international, plays as a centre-forward for the Segunda division club Almeria. The 27-year-old Colombian international has played a significant role in the team by scoring 31 goals in the 43 appearances in the previous season. Suarez was loaned to Almeria from Olympique Marseille in the winter transfer window of 2023.

But according to the latest reports citing Fabrizio Romano, the talks between Sporting Club Portugal and Almeria for Luis Suárez have accelerated in recent hours. Sporting Lisbon are very close in making an agreement with Almeria for the striker and the final details are expected to be sorted out in this week. Other clubs like Burnley and Fenerbahce were also interested in signing the likes of the 27-year-old. Moreover, he was also considered as a priority signing for the club Sunderland in this summer transfer window but, Sporting Club Portugal are now leading the race.
