India batter Shubman Gill has started his career in One-Day Cricket on a high as the batter has already amassed close to 900 runs in just 18 matches. Gill has shown amazing consistency to score runs on a regular basis. The batter has continued his prolific run in ODI cricket in 2023 as well. Gill has started the first series of the year with two 50+ scores against Sri Lanka. While the batter scored a brisk 70 in the first ODI, Gill converted his half-century into a three-figure score in the third ODI. 

Coming to open the innings for India, Gill got going against Lahiru Kumara as the batter hit four consecutive boundaries against the Sri Lankan pacer. Even though India lost Rohit Sharma, Gill did not stutter and got to his 6th ODI half-century in 52 balls. With Virat Kohli also hitting firmly at the other end, Gill put his feet on the paddle and scored some quick runs. Eventually, the batter reached the three-figure mark in just 89 balls. 

With Gill hitting a seventh 50+ score in just 18 ODIs, fans on Twitter showered praise on the batter. While some lauded Gill for his consistency, some called his inning majestic.
