Cricket is often compared to religion in India as fans are seen on a certain pedestal leading to multiple unwarranted problems. One such incident has sprouted out of this behaviour as a man was stabbed by his friend over a discussion about their favourite cricket players.

This gruesome incident took place in Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu where a conversation involving Indian players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni led to the loss of an individual’s life. Dharmaraj, the accused, killed Vignesh after the pair went out to get drinks where they were talking about Kohli, Sharma and Dhoni.

Vignesh was criticising the current two Indian players which caused the situation to escalate. Hence the pair got into a fight and the accused, who also was reported to have consumed alcohol, allegedly killed his friend by stabbing him to death as he couldn't take these negative thoughts about his favourite cricket players. The police have started an investigation and are looking into the matter.

Talking about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the duo was out for the second warm-up in Perth, Australia. The Men in Blue suffered to a 37-run defeat when they faced Western Australia XI on Thursday. After losing the toss the Aussies were invited to bat first.

After losing an early wicket D'Arcy Short and Nick Hobson came forward as they took Western Australia’s total to 168 in their 20 overs. The Short and Hobson duo combined to score 110 runs as they individually put up 52 and 64 respectively. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets while giving away just 32 runs in his four overs.

In the second innings, the Men in Blue had another sluggish start as they lost Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda cheaply. This trend continued throughout the game as only KL Rahul could find the middle of the bat as he scored a patient 74 in 55 balls. But all the other batters couldn’t find their feet as India was restricted to 132 at the end of the game.
