According to Football Insider, Premier League club Manchester City is planning a visit to India during pre-season ahead of 2023-24. Although most clubs prefer United States or East Asia to play pre-season friendly due to their well-established fanbases, City is planning a trip to India to strengthen commercial opportunities in India.

The City is reportedly keen to capitalise on the anticipated ISL title triumph of Mumbai City, an offshoot of the City Football Group. Notably, last month, Manchester City announced a partnership with Reliance Jio for its official mobile communications network partner in India. Man City's OTT platform CITY+ will be integrated into the JioTV platform and provide exclusive content to Indian viewers, including match highlights, matchday content, and more.
Talking about the ISL club Mumbai City, the club won their first Indian Super League title in 2020-21 and is currently at the top with a record-breaking 16-match unbeaten streak.
