Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly rejected the offer to join Saudi's Pro League Al- Hilal club. He is not keen to change the course of his career and is ok to lose out on £200 million. Moreover, Manchester United isn't keen to sell their captain either, as his contract with the club is till 2027. The 30-year-old has scored 98 goals and 87 assists in 290 appearances across all competitions since joining Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. Meanwhile, United suffered the worst finish of the Premier League era, ending the season in 15th place and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.

Former United and England defender Neville has welcomed Bruno's decision. "I think that there was an element of this situation that meant United getting that level of money, for someone of Bruno's age, obviously, you couldn't say that it would have been a bad deal. But, on the other hand, Manchester United's star player - only player at times - for the last four, five, six years, has been Bruno Fernandes. He's so important," he said to Sky Sports.

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim was confident of the captain’s stay to the club

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim seemed confident about his captain's stay, as he is important for the club. Upon asking if the 3-1 friendly win over Hong Kong the last match for Fernando was, "I do not think so. I do not know for sure, nobody knows, but I do not think so. "I think he wants to stay, he is saying 'no' to a lot of things, but it shows that he wants to win, and he is really good and needs to be in the best league in the world. Yes, we can find another way to earn money," he said.

Moreover, Manchester United will remain active in the on-going transfer season as Amorim looks to overhaul his underperforming squad. The club has signed Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves and is looking forward to sign Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo. Potential departures may include Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho.
