Manchester United have released a statement clarifying the Jadon Sancho controversy after the English winger posted a statement critising manager Erik ten Hag's comment about his performances. The Dutchman had called out Sancho for his sub-par performances in the team's practices.
Ten Hag also cited the same reason for Jadon Sancho missing out from the squad in the Premier League match against Arsenal, before the international break. The Red Devils lost that game 3-1 with injury-time goals by Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus.
Addressing the situation, Man United confirmed that Sancho will be training alone, away from the first team, until the issue is resolved. The statement said, " Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue."
Coming back to the statement by Sancho, the former Borrusia Dortmund talked about being the 'scapegoat' amidst Manchester United's struggles. Sancho wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!"
