
Brazilian playmaker, Matheus Cunha is all set to enter Manchester United and wear jersey No.10 from Marcus Rashford. United are ready to fetch £62.5m as a release clause as part of their summer transfer and sign him under a five-year deal. United will also have the option of adding 12 months in Wolves star Cunha's contract. Cunha had a great season in the Premier League and impressed Old Trafford chiefs with 15 goals and six assists. The Red Devils wanted to onboard Cunha into the club, and so had offered him the preferred shirt number held by Rashford since 2018.
Rashford is set to exit Old Trafford, since he is now considered as surplus to the club and that is why seeking quick transfer from this childhood club once his transfer formalities completed at Aston Villa. Rashford, after joining Unai Emery in January, managed to score four goals and six assists from 17 appearances. He wasn't included in United's 32-man player for the post-season trip to Asia.

After arriving at Wolves, Matheus Cunha successfully made 92 appearances and scored 33 goals throughout his stay. On Sunday, it was his last game for the Wolves, which was a 1-1 draw against Brentford. Post-match, he has been posting messages on his social media pages, stating- Individually it was the best season of my life. All of this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club. I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season along with Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli. I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived in this club so much. All I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves. Another one is over. And thank you for all the affection."
Meanwhile, talkSPORT indicates that United will have to pay the complete amount by the end of 2026-27. The club will pay the first instalment of £20.8m during the purchase period. The second instalment is at the end of the next season. The last by the summer of 2027.
