Manchester United has reportedly shown interest in signing Brentford star, Bryan Mbeumo, who is currently valued at £60 million. The club is already in advanced negotiations with Matheus Cunha's representatives, and they aim to reach an agreement shortly. According to the Telegraph, the club is interested in signing Mbeumo in addition to Cunha. Cunha is regarded as a player who can play through the center. Mbeumo will be added to the club's diverse offensive lineup.
The 28-year-old Cameroonian international has enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 season, scoring 18 goals and contributing six assists in 35 Premier League appearances. He is widely considered one of the premier wide forwards in the English top-flight, making him a great option for number of clubs in England and elsewhere.
Bryan Mbeumo for Manchester United could be a great asset
One of the reasons why Manchester and other clubs are showing interest towards the Brentford star is his skill and strong growth. Mbeumo has played a key role in putting the club within reach of European football. However, he is expected to seek a greater challenge this summer. A move to United could be an attractive opportunity for the versatile winger, who is also capable of playing as a second striker.
Mbeumo would be an excellent addition to the squad, known for his strength in both ground and aerial duels, as well as his creativity and chance creation in the final third. Manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly marked him as a priority. The Portuguese tactician could be envisioning a setup that features Bruno Fernandes and Mbeumo operating behind the primary striker next season.
If United were to secure both Cunha and Mbeumo, Cunha would likely lead the line— a position he has occupied for the majority of his career, making him a natural fit for the role. Presently, Ruben Amorim’s team is looking forward to playing in the Europa League, aiming to book a place in the final as they face Athletic Club in the second leg of their semi-final clash on Thursday, May 8.
