The Mexico City Grand Prix is all set to remain on the Formula 1 calendar till 2025 after recent three-year agreement signed between F1 Government of Mexico City and the race promoters. Notably, F1 returned at the Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez in 2015 after a hiatus of 22 years.

The Mexico City has been hosting the F1 race ever since 2015, just missing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The deal was renewed on Thursday (October 27) ahead of the race scheduled to take place from 27 to 29 October 2022. As per reports, the Mexico City Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez is set to host close to 350,000 fans this weekend.

“I am very pleased to announce that Formula 1 will continue to race in Mexico City for another three years under this new agreement,” said President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali.

“I want to thank Claudia Sheinbaum, the Head of Government for Mexico City, and Alejandro Soberon and his team for ongoing commitment to Formula 1 and the continued success of the event,” he further added.

The Red Bull Racing are the favourites  to win the race in the Mexico City. The Formula 1 2022 champion in Max Verstappen won the 2021 edition of the race and comes at favourite to win the race in Mexico after already claiming the 2022 Champions title. The Dutch driver is leading the drivers’ standing with 391 points, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (267 points) and Sergio Perez (265 points).
