Ahead of the IPL 2023 opener, the Chennai Super Kings have been hit with a major blow. Star player and skipper MS Dhoni has been facing some fitness issues and is likely to be doubtful for the IPL 2023 opener between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.

 

MS Dhoni sustained a knee injury during CSK’s practice session and limped off the field. If these reports are to be believed, Ben Stokes is likely to lead the side.

 

CSK roped in England all-rounder Ben Stokes for INR 16.25 Crore at the Player Auctions in December 2022. The side also boosts of the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali to strengthen their middle-order.

 

Talking about Chennai Super Kings, the MS Dhoni-led side finished ninth in the IPL 2022. Change in captaincy in the mid-season saw a drastic change in the standings during the league stage of the cash-rich league. They finished only above Mumbai Indians with four wins and ten defeats in the 14 games.
