The remainder of IPL 2021 is all set to kick off on September 19 with a match between arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Notably, the 14th edition of the tournament was put to a halt after the emergence of COVID-19 cases in the camps of several teams. The extent of the pandemic eventually forced the organisers to shift the remainder of the mega event to UAE, the country that successfully hosted the previous edition of the marquee event.

Given the aura IPL has maintained among spectators, all the fans are eagerly waiting for the tournament to resume. Amid all this, another good news for the cricket fans has come to the fore. Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that the squad will be travelling to Dubai on August 13 to prepare for the remaining games. He added that skipper MS Dhoni will also travel with the team.

"We're planning to leave by August 13. All domestic players, including skipper MS Dhoni, will leave that day for Dubai," said Kasi Viswanathan as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Talking about his performance in IPL 2021 so far, Dhoni has managed to score just 37 runs across 4 innings in the tournament.

MS Dhoni to continue with CSK for another 1-2 years

Soon after Dhoni announced his retirement last year, many started speculating that he would also call time on his IPL career soon. However, the CSK CEO recently cleared the air. Early in July, Viswanathan had confirmed that the cricket veteran would continue playing for CSK for another 1-2 years. The CEO had also praised the fitness and training of Dhoni and had asserted that there is no reason for which Dhoni could call time on his IPL career.

The aura of MS Dhoni
