Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had lost his verified badge - the blue tick - on the microblogging website Twitter. Although there was no clarity on why such a move had been made by the social media giant, the former India cricketer remains one of India's most celebrated sporting heroes and there is hardly any dip in his popularity. However, a thing that might have worked against him is that he does not use his Twitter account too often and shares posts only on his Instagram account.
As per the latest update, MS Dhoni's verification badge has been restored by the microblogging website.
Moreover, fans often get a sneak peek into his life through the fan accounts or even the social media account of his wife Sakshi. Dhoni's last tweet is dated January 8, 2021 which also happens to be nothing but an Instagram link.
One of India's most successful captains, Dhoni continues to feature in the Indian Premier League and will be back at the helm of CSK once the second leg of IPL 2021 resumes in UAE. Dhoni is not only the T20 World Cup, the 2011 50-overs World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy-winning captain of the men's national team, he also owns a stellar record leading the Yellow Brigade in IPL. Under his captaincy, Chennai had reached the Playoffs in every single season they had participated in, except in 2020 edition when they became the first team to be knocked out of the Playoff race.
However, taking a leaf out of their campaign in 2020, CSK looked at their clinical best in 2021 and had won five of their seven matches in the first half before the coronavirus cases forced the abrupt calling off of the tournament.

Although there was some doubt over the participation of their English players Sam Curran and Moeen Ali, both of whom played a key role in their renaissance this season, they are now likely to be available for the second leg of the tournament after England and Wales Cricket Board's confirmation.
Dhoni would also hope to regain his batting form after having scored just 37 runs at an average of 12.33 and a best of 18 in the first 7 matches of this leg. Even in 2020, the master finisher seemed to be far from his best, and scored just 200 runs in 14 matches, averaging 25 and a strike rate of 116.27.
