Hours after rumours confirming Lionel Messi's transfer to the Saudi Pro League next season, the Argentine International's father Jorge has denied all speculation. Messi's father made a comment as the head of Team Messi, the company that represents the player.
In the statement released by Team Messi, Jorge also stated that a decision on Messi's next club will be taken at the end of the season. The statement quoted in Clarin also stated that the 2022 World Cup winner has his focus set on finishing his season with PSG.
“There is absolutely nothing with any club for next year. The decision will never be made before Lionel finishes the league with PSG. Once the season ends it will be time to analyze and see what is there, and then make a decision.”
It further reads, “There are always rumours and many use the name of Lionel to gain notoriety but the truth is only one and we can assure you that there is nothing with anyone. Neither verbal nor signed nor agreed, and there will not be until the end of the season.”
