Alexander Isak, the Swedish striker, 25, plays club football for Newcastle United after joining them for a club-record fee of around £63 million from the Spanish club Real Sociedad in 2022. Isak has been a prolific goal-scorer since joining the squad and scored 10 goals in 27 appearances in his first season, to guide Newcastle United back to European competitions. The striker continued to succeed with the Magpies, scoring 21 goals in the 2023-24 season and 23 goals in the 24-24 season, to seal the spot for Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League. 

According to the latest developments, the Swede is set to leave the Magpies ahead of the upcoming campaign. Newcastle United have reportedly rejected the opening bid made by the Premier League Champions Liverpool which was in excess of £110 million. Newcastle United have valued the Swedish striker at a record fee of £150 million and they are not likely to accept any offer less than their evaluation. Isak was left out of the pre-season squad of Newcastle United on Asian tour due to injury, and it probably also happened as he wants to explore a move away from the club. 

Alexander Isak prioritises move to Anfield; continues training individually

Alexander Isak is reportedly prioritising a move to Merseyside and wants to complete a move to Liverpool. Isak is determined to win the Premier League and Champions League in the upcoming campaign, and he feels that his dreams can be turned into reality by playing under the guidance of Arne Slot at Liverpool. 

The Swedish striker has made it clear to Newcastle United that he prefers a move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old  is currently training individually at the training facility of his former club Real Sociedad amid the continued uncertainty about his future. While Newcastle United are eyeing a replacement in Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig or Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa to join the Magpies as a perfect replacement if Alexander Isak was to leave the club ahead of the start of the season.
