The IPL is a tournament which gives a platform to players from different nations to come together and share the same dressing room. While it provides an opportunity for them to learn from each other, there is also a scope of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each other. The top players like to apply the learnings when they return to the international arena. Recently, one such valiant attempt was made by RCB skipper Virat Kohli to prepare for the upcoming World Test Championship final but he hilariously failed.

Christian reveals a funny story

Royal Challengers Bangalore have gone off to a fantastic start in IPL 2021, with five wins in six matches so far. While they have been putting some consistent performances on the field, it seems like they are having a lot of fun off the field as well. In a conversation with The Grade Cricketer's YouTube channel, Aussie all-rounder Dan Christian narrated a hilarious incident related to his skipper and RCB's new-signing Kyle Jamieson.

He told, "Pretty cagey from Virat actually, right in the first week we were here. The three of us were sitting down after the nets and these two were talking about Test cricket. Virat said: 'So Jamie (Kyle Jamieson) have you bowled much with the Dukes ball?' and they are talking about that stuff. Jamie says: 'Yeah, I have a couple of them here, I will have a bowl leading in before I go over there' and Virat says -Oh, if you want to have a bowl against me in the nets, I am more than happy to fashion."

Kyle Jamieson denies Kohli

Dan Christian added that it was a valiant attempt from Virat Kohli to get to know more about Kyle Jamieson's bowling since the Kiwi troubled the Indian batsmen when they toured them last year. However, the fast-bowler realized what was going on and did not let the Indian skipper succeed in his plans as Dan revealed, "Jamie was like, 'No chance I am going to ball at you!' He would have looked at his release point and everything that he does with the Dukes ball!"

While both Kohli and Jamieson are currently playing for the same franchise in IPL, they would be up against each other when India and New Zealand play the ICC World Test Championship final at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton from June 18 to 22 this year. While Kohli might have failed in his attempt, he would definitely be having a keen eye on Jamieson during the nets session.
