The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) edged past the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to claim their third IPL title, registering an eight wicket win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 26). The Knight Riders not only ended their 10-year-wait but also celebrated in style along with their co-owners, stars and celebrities.
After a 90-minute wait post the completion of the match, the KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer was finally handed the champions trophy in an elaborative ceremony. After collecting the trophy from the board members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Kolkata based franchise took to social media to take a jibe at the Pat Cummins, the skipper of the SRH.
In the video shared by KKR across their social media handles, players, including Shreyas Iyer, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ramandeep, and others were seen mimicking Pat Cummins famous silence gesture. “NO MORE SILENCE. 💜 💛” the franchise captioned the video.

Totally outplayed: Pat Cummins after 8-wicket defeat in IPL 2024 summit clash
The ODI World Cup and World Test Championship Final winning captain, Pat Cummins, opened up after their comprehensive defeat in the IPL 2024 final in Chennai. “They bowled fantastically. Unfortunately, old mate Starcy turned it on again. Not enough tonight, totally outplayed,” Cummins said at the post-match presentation ceremony. “You hope you get a few boundaries away but they bowled fantastically well, didn’t really give us anything,” he further added.
The Australian captain also opened up on where the SRH lost the match. “It was a bit of a tricky wicket. If we got 160, it would have felt we were in the game. Didn't feel like a 200+ wicket. Well short, maybe a few extra runs would have given us a chance. So many (positives), the style that the guys played particularly with the bat,” he said.
