The Hundred 2025 draft witnessed Pakistan players not getting any buyer. Team Pakistan, who hosted the Champions Trophy 2025, are going through a tough time as their former players are consistently targeting them for their failure in the recently-concluded ICC event. The Green Army entered the marquee 50-over competition as defending champions, but following their heavy defeats at the hands of New Zealand and India, they exited the tournament in the group stage. Pakistan’s next assignment will be in New Zealand, where they will kick off their campaign against the Black Caps in the first T20 International (T20I) on March 16.
The Men in Green haven’t played quality cricket in T20Is recently. Back in 2024, they recorded one of their terrible campaigns in the ICC tournaments after getting knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan also lost T20I series against quality teams Australia and South Africa in their backyard. Noting the T20 World Cup 2009 champion side’s decline, buyers may have ignored all 45 Pakistan players who registered their names for The Hundred 2025 draft despite the fact that ECB director stated that the players will play in the league after the investment from the IPL teams.
Besides that, Pakistan are also scheduled to play three T20Is followed by three ODIs from the last week of June to August. Following their Windies tour, they will be clashing against Afghanistan at home. The Hundred is all set to return with its 2025 edition on August 5 and will entertain cricket supporters until August 31.
Noor Ahmad and Michael Bracewell secure lucrative deals in The Hundred 2025
Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad and New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell ruled the The Hundred 2025 draft as both bagged 2,00,000 pounds each from Manchester Originals (MO) and Southern Brave respectively. Former Australia opener David Warner will be seen playing for the London Spirit.
Warner will reunite with New Zealand stalwart Kane Williamson, who played with him for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Eminent names such as James Anderson and Jason Roy were ignored in the draft.
