Chelsea’s injury problems do not seem to be going away soon. Head coach Enzo Maresca has reported that Noni Madueke will be rested for a while due to a hamstring injury. The injury happened during their recent 0-3 Premier League defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion. The 22-year-old was off the ground at the Amex Stadium after only 20 minutes due to an injury sustained while creating a chance for teammate Cole Palmer moments before. Madueke, who got replaced by Jadon Sancho, marked the start of a disastrous night for Chelsea on the south coast.

This is yet another bad news for Chelsea, as head coach Maresca mentioned the team’s performance against Brighton was the worst. Chelsea is currently having a host of injured players resting including Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia, Marc Guiu, and Nicolas Jackson, and now, Madueke will join the list. Confirming the news, Maresca said, "Noni, unfortunately, has a hamstring problem so he will be out for a while.

Chelsea’s disappointing loss continues with the defeat against Brighton

Chelsea isn't just facing the rest of the injured players, but defeat in matches. Chelsea got defeated by Brighton at the Falmer Stadium on Friday. Kaoru Mitoma was the leading player to give the Seagulls a lead in the 27th minute with his goal. Besides, Yankuba Minteh's score helped in a comfortable win in the game.

Last week, Brighton had knocked the Blues out of the FA Cup's fourth round and won 2-1 at the Falmer Stadium. Chelsea is certainly having a bad time with no win in their last six games in different competitions, having faced four defeats and two draws.

Enzo Maresca, while assessing the team’s performance, mentioned, "Probably since I arrived that is the worst performance, especially in the moment we are in. We are fourth in the league and winning tonight so you can go one point from third and make the gap to the rest bigger. "The performance is not one you want to offer, so we are very upset and especially very sorry for the fans who were here, and in general to our fans, because at this moment you cannot offer this kind of performance with 14 games to go, now 13 games to go. In terms of desire, we need to show more."
