Nottingham Forest have officially announced the signing of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town on a five-year-contract. The 21-year-old was signed by Forest for a reported transfer fee of £37 million. After finishing seventh last season in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest were eyeing to sign a quality striker. Following the departure of Antony Elanga to Newcastle United, they were desperate to bring in a player of the same profile. Now, with the signing of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich, Forest look rejuvenated for the upcoming season and will be looking to finish in the top 4.
Omari Hutchinson was a part of Ipswich Town, who were recently relegated from the Premier League to the Championship. In 2023, the young winger, who plays in U-21 football for England, joined Ipswich town on a loan deal from Chelsea before making the deal permanent last season. Hutchinson is now ready for a new chapter in the Premier League with a new club.

Upon his arrival at Nottingham Forest, Omari Hutchinson said, “I’m really excited to be here and can’t wait to get started. I’ve played at the City Ground a few times and it always felt like a hostile atmosphere, so I’m looking forward to playing here with the fans behind us. I’m going to give it my all and I’m looking forward to the challenge as it’s a new chapter for me, but I feel ready.”
Omari Hutchinson is a versatile player who can play in different positions in the attacking line and fits well in the system of Nuno Espirito Santo. The CEO of Nottingham Forest, Ross Wilson, stated that Omari is coming from a brilliant summer having won the Euro U-21 tournament with England. He further added that Hutchinson will bring a lot of new energy to the squad apart from being eagaer to see him thrive in a Nottingham Forest jersey.
