India after winning two back-to-back matches against Australia and Afghanistan will be facing their arch-rivals Pakistan at the biggest cricket ground, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India have an edge over Pakistan due to their head-to-head records in World Cups and also in their last meeting at the 50-over Asia Cup, India outplayed Pakistan completely. Hence it will be interesting to see how this contest unfolds given an unreal hype for the game.

Although Shubman Gill travelled to Ahmedabad, still his availability remains to be a big question mark. Hence, India is expected to go with same opening combination of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan.
Recently, in the press conference Rohit Sharma has stated that Gill will be available to play this game most likely (99%) but it will be interesting to see if he gets to play his first World Cup game tomorrow.
Shubman Gill has been in greatest form in ODIs in 2023 as he has been the only batter score 1000-plus runs in this calendar year.
