With the Men in Blue looking strong at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the side will next take on Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on October 19. While Bangladesh will come into this game after losing their last match against England, Team India are on the verging of maintaining their win record so far in the tournament.

But ahead of the India-Bangladesh, a report on Shakib Al Hasan’s participation came under the radar. As reported by Cricbuzz, Shakib is said to be a doubtful starter for the game due to a left quad tear he sustained during the game against New Zealand. The 36-year-old was struggling to bat at one point and was taken to hospital for a scan immediately after finishing his 10-over quota.

“I am not sure whether he is available for the next game or not, but there is certainly some doubt since he sustained a light tear,” a BCB official was quoted by Cricbuzz on Saturday. However, the official did not disclose the grade of the tear but hoped that they are hoping for the best and would be happy if he makes it to the XI.
