According to reports, former Real Madrid defender Marcelo is all set to leave Olympiacos after two months due to fitness issues. Notably, the left-back joined the Greek side after spending his whole career in Spain with Madrid. But after a series of below-par performances and failure to live up to the expectation of the manager Michel has decided to end Marcelo's tenure in Olympiacos.

According to a report published by The Sun, the club is 'fed up with Marcelo's failure to play even a full half of football, with all of his five appearances for the side coming from the bench.

Reports have also confirmed that Michel, who is also a Real Madrid legend, having played for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit for over a decade, has already decided the 34-year-old will not be in his plans, with the club hoping to move him on as soon as possible.  Olympiacos are currently fourth in the Greek Super League table, 12 points behind leaders Panathinaikos.

The Brazilian footballer enjoyed a successful stint at Real Madrid, winning six league titles while lifting five Champions League trophies. Since joining them in 2007, the Brazilian has made 546 appearances for the club, earning legendary status at the Santiago Bernabeu.

After his stellar Los Blancos career, Marcelo Oliviera was officially unveiled to Olympiacos fans at Georgios Karaiskakis stadium in front of 20,00 fans on September 9. The former Real Madrid captain was wearing the same number 12 he wore at the Santiago Bernabeu for the past 16 years on his back.

The footballers received a warm welcome as the fans charged towards him while chanting his name and lit flares to welcome their new star. These recent failures in Greece also resulted in Marcelo's omission from Brazil's FIFA World Cup squad. Coach Tite picked a pool of players with a blend of talented youngsters and experienced players at every position.
