The Day 3 of the World Test Championship 2023 was witness to a hilarious incident where a fan was asked to change his position as his t-shirt was distracting Steven Smith. After bundling out India at 296, Australia came into bat with a lead of 173.
The Indians managed to get early inroads which brought out the in-for, Steven Smith, who quickly got to scoring. But as he started accumulating runs, the Aussie batter was distracted by a fan wearing a red t-shirt sitting behind the straight boundaries. Hence the on-field umpire Richard Illingworth requested the fan to shift his place.

But after this incident, Steven Smith soon got out with a score of 31 as he tried to slog Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian left-arm spinner soon dismissed Travis Head as Australia ended the day at 123-4 in 44 overs.
Speaking about Team India's Day 3 performance. Ajinkya Rahane said said, "Australia is slightly ahead in the game. For us, it's important to be in the moment, play session by session. First one hour will be crucial tomorrow. We know funny things can happen. Jadeja bowled really well, footmarks helped him against the left-hander. Still feel wicket will help seam bowlers."
