
Mumbai’s domestic team created history with their massive win against Uttarakhand in the quarter-final of Ranji Trophy at KSCA Cricket Ground in Bengaluru on June 9, 2022. Setting a massive target of 795 runs, Mumbai bowled Uttarakhand for just 69 runs and won the match by a mammoth margin of 725 runs. This remains the biggest-ever win by the margin of runs in the history of all first class cricket.
Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Mumbai posted a mammoth 647 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first innings. Suved Parkar top scored with 252 runs off 447 balls, hitting 21 fours and four sixes. Apart from that, Sarfaraz Khan also contributed with 153(205) runs with 14 fours and four sixes. Armaan Jaffer (60 off 133) and Sham Mulani (59 off 83) also scored respective half-centuries as Mumbai crossed the 600-run mark.

In reply, Mumbai’s massive total, Uttarakhand were bowled out for 114 runs in the first innings trailing by 533 runs. Shams Mulani registered the figures of 5/39. Despite getting enough lead to get a big victory by the innings, Mumbai didn’t enforce follow-on on Uttarakhand and decided to bat in their second innings, After that, Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Prithvi Shaw put up an opening partnership of 115 runs for the first wicket.
Shaw got out after scoring 72(80) runs while Jaiswal went on to score 103(150) runs, hitting 10 fours and two sixes. Apart from that, Aditya Tare also scored a half-century as Mumbai declared on 261/3 giving Uttarakhand a target of 794 runs to win. In reply, Uttarakhand were bundled out for just 69 runs by the first session on day four, as Mumbai registered a historic win by 725 runs to enter the Ranji Trophy trophy semi-final in that edition.
