India will take on Sri Lanka in Match 33 of the ODI World Cup 2023. While the Men in Blue are unbeaten so far in the tournament, winning all six games, their Asian rivals, Sri Lanka are also coming on the back of two wins, with their last win coming against reigning champions in England.

But ahead of the match, Team India captain Rohit Sharma addressed the pre-match press conference. While he spoke on India’s campaign so far and giving an update on Hardik Pandya’s injury, he also added that a loss in one match at the ODI World Cup 2023 will term him as “bad captain”.
“One game I lose, I know I will be termed as bad captain,” Rohit Sharma said at the presser.
The 36-year-old also added that no match at the ODI World Cup is a cakewalk, be it against England or Sri Lanka. Ahead of the crucial match, where a win will assure India a place in the semifinals, also spoke of Uncle Percy, the Sri Lanka superfan who recently passed away. The Indian captain said, “In my eyes, Uncle Percy was the best fan of cricket”.
Talking about the two teams’ performance in the CWC 2023, while India comfortably sits at the top of the standings, Sri Lanka are seventh and a win for them will still keep them in contention for the semifinals.
