Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp wants the Premier League match between Tottenham and Liverpool to be replayed after the VAR failed to award Luis Diaz’s goal. Tottenham took on Liverpool on September 30, where the former secured a victory over their counterparts 2-1. In Sunday’s match, the officials wrongly disallowed Luis Diaz’s goal due to a misunderstanding after the VAR’s failure.
Klopp addressed the media on the issue and said that one should deal with it in a proper way. Not only this, but the 56-year-old also insisted on a rematch and said that the match between both teams should be replayed. The Liverpool manager said, "It's really important that as big as football is and important as football is we deal with it in a proper way.”
He went on to say, "All the people involved, the on-field referee, linesman, fourth official and especially in this case VAR, didn't do that on purpose. It was an obvious mistake and I think there would have been solutions for it afterwards.”
The Stuttgart born further added, “Some people probably don't want me to say, but not as the manager of Liverpool so much, more as a football person, the only outcome should be a replay. That's how it is. It probably will not happen." After the assistant VAR Dan Cook was altered for the mistake by the replay operator, he said that since the game had been restarted, he cannot intervene.
