With six wins in the ongoing F1 season and taking no fewer than four pole positions, as on date, and more than anything else, demonstrating an error-free driving style, Oscar Piastri means serious business in 2025. Not only has he raised his graph further as a top notch talent on the Formula One grid, his excellence and thoroughly clinical performances have helped McLaren to continue their dominant streak this season. 2025, thus far, has been no different than the previous year in which the iconic British stable emerged Constructor's champions.

Having said that and with the current season right in it’s break, former F1 world champion Nico Rosberg has emerged with the key strength with which Oscar Piastri has been fighting so far, an element that is rather “scary”, as per the German-Finn racing champion. Speaking his mind on the comparisons between Piastri and his McLaren teammate Norris, Rosberg happened to share, as per Sky Sports, “Oscar has just been extremely quick always, and I see them kind of on a par. Oscar is super strong. He's surprised me because we all knew he was a great driver, but last year, Lando still had the edge. This year, Oscar is just incredibly solid, strong and fast.”

What makes Piastri such a threat?

That being told, Nico Rosberg was also of the view and alluded to the fact that Oscar Piastri doesn’t really have any weaknesses and that is the precise factor that could make him and his dominance a bit scary for Lando Norris.

With another ten races to go and the world championship almost, if not entirely, hanging on the knife's edge, it is a matter of time before the current fight between the two combative McLaren drivers becomes even more closer with both of them in smashing form. All this while, the likes of Ferrari and Mercedes are collecting mostly the points spilled by either of the two McLaren drivers even as Norris is trying his best to stay relevant in the fight. He won F1's most recent race held at the Hungaroring, at Hungary. The next races could further make the current title fight even more absorbing than it already is.

Moreover, Piastri with 284 points, currently enjoys a nine-point advantage over Norris in the F1 Driver's World Chmpampionship.
