Pablo Gavi ra, popularly known as Gavi, is one of the most talented youngsters in the world and a key part of Barcelona's La Liga 2022-23 title-winning squad. After his contract renewal in September was not registered in the Spanish league, many Premier League clubs were interested to get his signature. Gavi is now available on a free transfer until Barcelona manage to figure out how to register him amid the salary limit rules, however, the Spaniard has broken his silence over his Barcelona future.

Reports in Spain claimed that Chelsea managers met with the player and his family to discuss a summer transfer. Manchester City was also one of the clubs monitoring the player's situation. Gavi has made it clear that remaining at Barcelona is his preference.

Gavi told Movistar, "I want all of you to be calm on my future… I’m very calm." He continued to stress that Barcelona is his dream club as he said, "Since I was little I’ve wanted to stay at Barca, it’s my dream club, I always say it."

Earlier Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez had also insisted that Gavi won’t be ‘happy at any other club’ and that he was an important member of the squad. The Kopa Trophy winner has played more than 40 matches for Barcelona this season playing an important part in the La Liga win. The youngster is promised some rest next season as Barcelona continue their rebuild.

Barcelona's dire financial situation forced the club to sell $103 million of the club's assets to raise some money. It was still not enough to keep Gavi in the first team. The Spaniard could still sign a new deal, but Barcelona need to clear up their books first. That might be an issue; they are already working with limited financial flexibility. It is unknown exactly how much money they need to clear.
