During their Champions Trophy opener, Pakistan top order found it difficult to take down the New Zealand bowlers, which led to Babar Azam getting criticised for one of his slowest fifties, but at the same time, Salman Agha and Khushdil Shah attacked their way to good innings. Meanwhile, the bowlers of the Pakistan team struggled for wickets after a couple of early scalps, allowing the opposition batters to dictate terms, especially in the death overs.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener for India belonged to Shubman Gill, who got to yet another hundred in ODI cricket on a tough batting pitch, to help his team chase down a reasonable score against Bangladesh.
