India celebrates Shaheed Diwas on March 23 every year to remember the sacrifices of the Indian freedom fighters in their struggle for Independence. On this historic day, three young and brave Indian freedom fighters, Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh, and Rajguru sacrificed their lives for the Independence of the country against the British Raj.
Many Indian cricketers including Virender Sehwag, VVS Lakshman, and Rishabh Pant remembered the three great freedom fighters on the historic day. The cricketers took to their respective X (formerly Twitter) handles and paid homage to them as they were sentenced to death on this day in the year 1931.
Former Indian opener Sehwag wrote, "Remembering the 3 great men, Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh, and Rajguru on their martyrdom day. Their love for the nation and values continues to inspire generations."

Apart from them, the Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant and the IPL franchise Punjab Kings also posted tributes on their social media handles.
Talking about the ongoing IPL, Rishabh Pant will be back in competitive cricket after 14 months following the life-threatening car accident the Indian batter suffered in December 2022. Pant's DC will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against PBKS on Saturday in Punjab.
