The Indian contigent had a disappointing performance on Day 12 of the Paris Olympics 2024 despite the Indian men’s hockey team winning the bronze. Runner Jyothi Yarraji finished 4th in the 100m hurdles repechage and failed to reach the semis. While Anshu Malik lost in the women’s 57kg wrestling Round of 16.
Then Aman Sehrawat shocked the world by reaching the semi-final where he suffered a crushing defeat against Rei Higuchi. India's only positive came as the men's hockey team defeated Spain 2-1 to win a bronze medal. At the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, India was behind a goal in the second quarter, but they made a great comeback to take home their second straight bronze medal at the Olympic Games in men’s hockey.
