Paris Saint-Germain have signed Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli on a four-and-half-year contract until June 2029 after being linked with moves to Liverpool and Chelsea in the ongoing January transfer window. After failing to agree to a contract extension with Napoli over the past few months, the 23-year-old had asked to leave the Serie A leaders in the middle of the season, and his wish was granted by the club.

Notably, while there is no information being revealed in regards to the transfer fee, it has been reported that Paris Saint-Germain paid £59 million plus add-ons to Napoli to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. With that, he has also become the first player in history from Georgia to sign with PSG after playing a key role in Napoli winning the Serie A last season, and during that time, they had called him “Kvaradona” after their former player and football legend Diego Maradona.

It's a dream to be here. I've heard so many positive things about PSG: Khvicha Kvartshkhelia

After joining Paris Saint-Germain, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia spoke about being excited to play for his new club, calling it a dream to make the move from Napoli to the French capital. He was quoted as saying, “It's a dream to be here. I've heard so many positive things about PSG. I feel immense pride in joining this great club and I'm really looking forward to wearing my new colours."

The professional career of Khvicha Kvaratshkhelia gathered steam during his time at Napoli, where he got a combination of 54 goals and assists in 107 matches after joining them from Dinamo Batumi in 2022 for just £9 million. He will be looking to take his professional career to the next level at PSG, whose first statement about him read, “Khvicha is one of the most exciting players in world football - a fantastic talent, but also a player who has courage and fights for the team above all else.”
