American promoter and WWE personality Paul Heyman has made a controversial statement about Indian World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he placed Roman Reigns over the Indian cricketing legend. Paul Heyman celebrated his 57th birthday on 11 September.
On this occasion, a news media house on their Twitter handle shared a throwback story addressing how Heyman called out the International Cricket Council. Reacting to this tweet, Heyman posted an Instagram story and said "For the record, my Tribal Chief Roman Reigns would smash Mahendra Singh Dhoni's numbers on the cricket field... and that is something everyone should acknowledge."
Back in 2019, the ICC was praising Mahendra Singh Dhoni for using one of Heyman's iconic catchphrases. In response, Heyman tweeted at the ICC and demanded royalties for using the catchphrase. The tweet said, “My most (in)sincere compliments to @cricketworldcup for promoting the amazing @msdhoni by paraphrasing my mantra for @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar #EatSleepConquerRepeat. Our royalties may be paid in cash, check, stock or cryptocurrency.”

Paul Heyman joined forces with Roman Reigns shortly after his huge return at SummerSlam 2020. In these past two years, Heyman pulled every string possible to make Roman Reigns the biggest superstar in all of pro wrestling. Be it on regular episodes of Raw and Smackdown, his official social media handles, or in interviews, Heyman always made it a point to make people aware of Reigns' greatness and stardom.
Heyman said, “You haven’t seen the best of Roman Reigns yet. A year from now he will be far greater than Roman Reigns is today. That’s his goal. Roman Reigns this Friday will be better than Roman Reigns last Friday. Roman Reigns next Friday, he will be able to look back at this Friday’s appearance and say, ‘Wow, I can do that so much better,’ and he will.”
