With the latest reports coming regarding the retention list for the mega auction ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings are likely to with these two uncapped players as their retention. According to the reports, PBKS can retain Arshdeep Singh as their only capped Indian player. Apart from that, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma can also be retained as uncapped players for PBKS ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. 

Punjab Kings will be coming with a new skipper after Shikhar Dhawan’s retirement. Along with that former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting has also joined the franchise as a head coach ahead of the upcoming season. Along with that, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Rillee Rossouw and Nathan Ellis are the contenders to get retained as overseas players by PBKS. 

PBKS possible retentions for IPL 2025

Punjab Kings will be looking to make a different squad in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, they will look to get their best players back in the squad. Arshdeep Singh, who finished as the leading wicket taker in the 2024 T20 World Cup is likely to be the first player to get retained by the franchise. Along with that, uncapped players like Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh can be retained by PBKS for their memorable performances in IPL 2024. 

With Shikhar Dhawan announcing his retirement this year, Sam Curran can lead PBKS in IPL 2025. Curran has led PBKS on a few occasions as a stand-in captain in place of Dhawan. However, PBKS can also look for a new skipper in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction.
